Mohammadreza Omidali

Doctoral Researcher · Fab Academy 2026 · Oulu, Finland

Hi, I'm Omid. I'm a doctoral researcher at the University of Oulu, where my work involves optics, ultrasound, and multimodal biomedical sensing.

I joined Fab Academy to develop the practical side of my work further. This website documents what I have been learning and building during Fab Academy.

Final Project - Sleep Monitoring

My final project is a wearable sleep monitoring device that detects snoring, tracks sleep position, and measures temperature and humidity. It combines a custom PCB, several sensors, embedded programming, a 3D-printed enclosure, and a live browser dashboard.

A lot of what I learned during FabAcademy eventually came together in this project.

Weekly Documentation

Fab Academy has been very hands-on, and not everything worked on the first try.

The weekly pages document the process as it happened: what I tried, what went wrong, how I fixed it, and what I learned from it.

A Little More About Me

My main work is in biomedical engineering and experimental research. FabAcademy has helped me become more hands-on and learn how to build more of the systems I use in my work.
