Writing on 2024.4.14th
... I finally have the time to update my content properly. It never occur to me that I will have so much work during the Fablab time...
Introducing Meβ
This is Matthew, an Application Engineer in Seeed Studio, also a content manager/product manager of the company, as well as managing the website platforms and a collaborative program called the Contributor Program.
Been an Application Engineer, I usually write wiki/projects about the products usages and the description of our products. From the end of 2023 to the early 2024, I am more focused on content and website management, like wiki platform, bazaar (these two links link to the website of me first writing as an application engineerXD).
At the same time, I am honorably to run a program called the Contributor Program, which is looking for overseas engineers and collaborat with them to publish some interesting projects:
This is an amazed project made by one of Seeed Studio Contributors.
What I am good atβ
I think I am really good at content management, which is the very base for AIGC these days. Why is that?
For starter:
- My graduation thesis was based on social data (Twitter) using machine learning (ML) to determine whether people have depression. Social data is self-sourced information publicly published on a forum on a topic in 2017 - data on 600 people, 300,000 tweets. Python writing software was used to conduct pre-processing operations on data such as stop words, tfidf and orientation quantity, and then ML methods such as SVM and linear regression were used to test the accuracy of various methods.
After going to the society(Seeed Studio):
- I've been writing product details and wikis for over a year. Then organize a small team to clean up the old wiki platform (with thousands of articles) from the inside out. The current one is not perfect but it does have so much improvements.
Communicating with people from all over the world
- Some time ago, I had an opportunity to run a project independently, namely Contributor Program. I have learned a lot of conversational skills while communicating with people from all over the world.
What I want to improve myselfβ
I'm a super lazy person. Indeed I am:
- When things start piling up, I somehow manage to tackle just the essentials.
- If there's still time left on the clock, I tend to push tasks to the back burner, cruising through my day with the bare minimum.
- This laid-back approach has been my strategy, from work situations to personal projects.
Thus I am so eager to change meXD And it is why I am thrilled that I can dive into something completely new, starting from scratch Building a skill from the ground up isn't just about the knowledge - it's a thrilling adventure!
I understand it is hard, but I have no idea this hard...At the very beginning of doing Fab Academy, I don't have so much work like I do now... I understand it is a promotion for me and a approval by the company. But I also have all kinds of new responsibilities - it costs a lot of time for me: From task scheduling to personal emotional scheduling, really brothering me a lot. - My laziness flaw was exposed very quickly.
From beginning to end, my only goal is to become a better version of myselfUntil today, I found that I have overcome a lot of difficulties and have made a lot of progress. Especially since I've been working on projects with a lot of techniques I even don't know about.
There are only three weeks left until the final and I actually think I will be satisfied if I don't complete the whole class.:)
