19. Invention, intellectual property and income¶
This week I worked on developping a plan for dissemination of my final project. And the assignment was to develop a plan for dissemination of your final project prepare drafts of your summary slide (presentation.png, 1920x1080) and video clip (presentation.mp4, 1080p HTML5, < ~minute, < ~10 MB) and put them in your root directory
Research¶
To start my assignment I first search for the meaning of the following keywords: 1. Dissemination: Is the process of making the results of a project available to the wider audience; Dissemination is essential for take-up and take-up is crucial for the success of the project and for the sustainability of outputs in the long term. 2. Intellectual property:Is a category of property that includes intangible creations of human intellect like artistic works, designs, symbols, names, and images. There are many types of intellectual property and some countries recognize more than others.
The best known types of intellectual property are:¶
1.Copyrights: which is a type of intelectual property that gives its owner the exclusive right to copy, distribute, adapt, display, and perform a creative work which can be literary, artistic, educational, or musical form., usually for limitted time. A copyright is intended to protect the orginal expression of an idea in the form of a creative work, but not the idea itself. 2. A patent: Is a type of intellectual property that gives its owner the legal right to exclude others from making, using, or selling an inention for alimited perid of time. In most countries it fall under private law.
3. Trademark: Is a type of intellectual property consisting of a recognizable sign, design, or expression that identifies products or services and distinguishs from others. It can be an individual, business organization, legal entity.
4. Trade Secrets: Are a type of Intellectual property that includes formulas, practices, processea, designs, patterns that have inherent economic value because they are not generally known by others and which the owner takes reasonable measure to keep secret(confidential information).
Licensing my project¶
They are many licensing campanies and ones you have to pay for them and others are free for my project I choose to license it with a free licensing campany called Creative commons. because my project is now a prototype and it is an initial stage of working on it and I will continue working on it as now it accept RFID only to open the door and I need to add the way of using a password like keypad or your smart phone keypad and I think I will use most of the open source think to developed it for the future scope.And I decided to go with creative commons licence to license my project.
Creative commons. is an american non-profit organization and international network devoted to educational access and expanding the range of creative works available for others to build upon leaglly and share. The organization has released several copyright licenses known as Creative commons licenses, free of charge to the public.Creative commons licenses give everyone from individual creators to large campanies and institutions a simple, standardized way to grant copyright permissions to their creative work.
Public copyright licenses of Creative commons uses the following 3 layers:¶
1. Legal code: is in the kind of language and text formats that most lawyers know and love. 2. Humman Readable: it is in format that normal people can Read, it is a user-friendly interface to the legal code. 3. machine Readable: design recognizes that software, from search engine to office productivity to music editing, copying, discovery, and distribution of work.
Licenses in creative commns:¶
For my project, I choose Attribution-Share Alike as I will let others remix, adapt, and build upon your work even for commercial purposes, as long as they credit me and license their new creations under the identical terms.

They provided you a form to fill then you have to select and copy the given code and put into your text editor page where you want to show to the vistors that your project is licensed. I copied the below highlighted code and put it on this week assignment.
After licensing my project, I pushed it to see If I can see the message to show to others that my work is licensed and it is seen as you can see below

Future income¶
As every one need security to his/her home and my smart door lock system has minimum cost, after finishing and work successfuly it will be great to commercialize for homes.
