19. Invention, intellectual property and income

Assignment:

develop a plan for dissemination of your final project prepare drafts of your summary slide (presentation.png, 1920x1080) and video clip (presentation.mp4, 1080p HTML5, < ~minute, < ~10 MB) and put them in your root directory

Invention:

This project tries to reduce the costs of man power at home in creation of control home gate system using web App.There are several projects of control gate system in the internet, but none of those that I have seen try to cover the design of interface, electronics, like my project.

Intellectual property:

LICENSE

License means permission to do something, especially formal permission from a government or other authority. The word often refers to the proof of that permission, such as a card or certificate.

I made some research about two different copyright licenses because a patent was not going to cut it, and was not necessary:

Most of the Projects which have been generated through the Fab Academy are under an open license which means they are opensource so everybody can download and reuse the files. I decided to license my final project under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License .

What does this mean?

A Creative Commons (CC) license is one of several public copyright licenses that enable the free distribution of an otherwise copyrighted work. A CC license gives people the right to share, use, and build upon a work of the author. CC provides a flexibility to the author(for example, he/she might choose to allow only non-commercial uses of his/her own work) and protects the people who use or redistribute an author’s work from concerns of copyright infringement as long as they abide by the conditions that are specified in the license by which the author distributes the work. .

You can have a look at all the legal codes of this license .

Creative Commons License
This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License.

The second license I looked at was a GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE.

The difference between the Creative Commons license and the GNU license is that with the GNU everybody can use and build my prototype, while with the CC license everybody can also change and readapt my files, which at the end helps me more to get more peoples knowledge and make at the end a much rounder and well produced end product. That’s why I decided to go for the Creative Commons License

Income:

I will make advartizement on different medi and also make a crowdfunding campaign. to see if the people are interested in my product and are willing to invest money/coins for it.

Develop a plan for dissemination:

After obtaining the license as per the previous section, I intend to publish my work using different methods to ensure it will reach the largest number of audience like:

.Advartizement on different media to see if the people are interested in my product can buy it.

. Reach agreements with privateers or Residential areas to sell my products.

.Using different Creative Commons Platforms (Example: YouTube, vimeo, ..etc)

.Publishing my files and designs in Github for others to clone it and be able to build upon it.

.Create my own blog / website to enable me to be reached and to receive feedback from others.
