Cutting my board

Previous

Having finished designing my board using eagle, there was just a couple more things I had to do before I could cut. The first was to export the file as a png. Then, using gimp, I resized the png to get rid of most of the dead space. I also added my name and title to the board

I used double sided sticky tape to attach our copper sheets onto the sacrificial bed of plywood. Past experiance told me using too much would make the sheet very hard to detach, so I used two long strips rather than covering the whole sheet.

Having made a new collar to fit our 1/64 shanks, I first milled out the net of the board .

Then I used a 1/32 shank to cut the board out of the sheet of copper.

The board did require a little bit of clean up- using glass paper I very carefully sanded the board. Also there where some connections that shouldn’t of been there- which must of happened when I converted the board into a png. I used a stanley knife to break these. I also went and edited the png file using gimp again to fix this incase I need to cut out the board again.
