Caution! José Figueroa at FabAcademy 2013
Weekly report of my work at FabLab Barcelona
Who am I?

I am originally from Honduras. For the past 10 years I have lived in Panama. Both are wonderful, tropical, small central american countries. I recently finished undergrad studies on electromechanical engineering, and did an interesting thesis (final graduation work) involving modelling, simulation and final implementation using Arduinos. Although all these tasks sound interesting, the major challenge was physical prototyping, because we do not have access to the tools that are common to work with in a FabLab. I am subscribed to several technical publications like Make Magazine, which have increased my interest in the digital maker movement.

I love music of all sorts, play the guitar and occassionally write songs. I could not bring my guitar to Barcelona, so if anyone around here has a spare guitar to share, I can gladly look after it for the next months.

I enjoy literature, and I try to read as much I can, whenever I can. My favorite novel is about a family living in Catalonia during the Spanish Civil War. It is a great coincidence to come to this region I have read so much about, and come to learn new exciting skills.
