Notes on networking and communications

Another 'simple' assignment this week. I like it when the assignment consists from "Make this, here are the parts, this is how you do it"

The electronics classes lose me very fast. I have no basic skills in electronics nor any understanding. I am however on a point now that I feel comfortable milling and soldering and flashing and programming an existing board.

We decided to mill a couple of boards at once again as it just is quicker then to have to wait for everyone to mill their own. We were all going to do the hello.bus.45.bridge and the hello.bus.45.node boards first anyway.

Soldering the components to the board was very straight forward. Figuring out how to position the wires between them and program them took a bit of trial and error. With a little help and plugging the USB into the computer flashing the bridge and nodes went fine. I did not make 3 different node files. I simply switched node numbers in the main file whichever I was flashing.

When every board was flashed I hooked them up together and fired up the command file. My screen looked like this

The nodes would flash twice upon typing 1 or 2. Any other keystroke would just flash the nodes.
