Individual assignment

Time management

I didn't use any fancy time management skill to be honest. Instead, I wrote down everything I wanted to implement on a canvan board and moved the items around. As you can see from the photo below, there are several sections such as TODO, features, Researching, and so on. So, for example, once I started researching about the light sensor, I moved the item to the Researching section. And once the researching was done, I moved the item to the Making on progress section. By doing this, I could see the bird view of the entire project, and what needed to be done and what was done.

The tool I used is called Notion. It is very powerful tool where you can make your own documents, chart, blogs with the built-in templates or your own way. I made a separate folder for the Fab Academy and organized my documents in there. Also, I could link those documents from the canvan board from above. Like this, Notion helped me a lot organizing documents and managing my project schedule.

This way, I was able to look up some codes or tips that I wrote down before. Because of this, I could build my final project fast and smoothly, after the house body and the main boards were ready.

What tasks have been completed, and what tasks remain?

Completed

  • - House body design and cut

  • - House body assembly

  • - Program & setup with the right main board

  • - Program & setup with the left main board

  • - Program & setup with the ESP32-CAM board

  • - Decorate the house (making furniture pieces, painting the house body..)

Ramain

All done.

What has worked? what hasn't?

Everything worked well as I expected and planned.

What questions need to be resolved?

- How to ship the final project safely to home?

I think I should wrap it well so that it won't break when I bring it back to either Korea or ship it to America. But even if some part breaks, I know how to fix it so it won't be that big of problem.

What will happen when?

The presentation was done on 1st of July.

What have you learned?

  • - 2D & 3D design

  • - How to use 3D printer

  • - How to use laser cutting machine

  • - How to use small milling machine

  • - How to use big milling machine

  • - Molding and casting skill

  • - Electronics knowledge

  • - Project management

  • - Teamwork
