3D Scanning and Printing

We began by running the calibration tests on both printer models:

  • Auto Bed Leveling: Measures the build plate surface to compensate for small height differences.
  • Z-Offset Calibration: Adjusts the distance between the nozzle and the build plate.
  • Input Shaping: Compensates for vibrations during high-speed movements.
  • Filament Detection: Monitors the presence of filament and pauses the print if the material runs out.

Slicer

The slicing process was carried out using Creality Print. This software converts the 3D model into G-code, which contains the instructions that the printer follows during the printing process.

Printing

After preparing the files in the slicer, we printed the selected models. This step allowed us to observe the surface quality, dimensional stability, and general printing performance.

Hot water was applied to the PLA parts to intentionally deform specific sections and observe how the material reacts to heat.
