About Fab Lab Universidad de Lima

The Digital Fabrication Laboratory (Fab Lab Ulima) allows the creation of functional prototypes that solve a real problem in society. It has capabilities for design and prototype acquisition through printing and other technologies, providing services to students in subjects such as Research Seminar and Technological Innovation Workshop. The intensive use of design software packages is an opportunity for product development; additionally, the use of reverse engineering is one of the main strengths of this laboratory.

Fab Lab Ulima participates in research, problem-solving, and the development of new technologies for the benefit of society. In collaboration with the Manufacturing and Electronics laboratories, Fab Lab Ulima brings to life projects with a social profile and business projects, such as the following:

Manufacturing of plastic injection molds, which are strengths for executing projects with Peru's industrial park. Precise carving of materials in three or more dimensions simultaneously. Development of electronic boards. Currently, work is being done with SMD circuits to achieve quite compact development boards.
