Group Assignment

“characterize the design rules for your PCB production process.”

We learned the process of using cnc milling machine at Fablab kannai.
Also we tested four types of endmills with test data provided by fab academy.

Tools

The following are endmills we used this week.

From the left,
-V-bit (0.1mm 20 deg)< For traces. New trial for this year.
-0.0312” DIA 2FL SE AlTiN 1/32 Inches(0.79375 mm)< for interior.
-0.0156” DIA 2FL SE AlTiN 1/64 Inches(0.396875 mm)< For traces.
-0.0100” DIA 220M .010 (0.254 mm)< For traces.

Also we need those tools.

-Power solvent
-Double-sided Tape
-PCB(カット基板 銅張積層板 片面 紙フェノール 100×150×1.6mm【NO12】)

◆Setting the test data

◆Setting the machine

1.Push the Power button to start up the machine, the VIEW button to move to original point.
Adjust Z axis from the button, XY axis from the PC.

2.Set the endmill carefully with set screw.

3.Milling

4.Removing the dusts with the brush.

5.Done.

Results of test cut

1/64”(0.397mm)

0.010”(0.254mm)

The tip broke ,due to the setting of speed or cut depth.

V-bit (0.1mm 20 deg)

Comparison 1/64”(0.397mm) with V-bit (0.1mm 20 deg)
