WEEK ASSIGNMENT:
Computer-controlled cutting
Design, make, and document a press-fit construction kit
For this week activity ,one Kit was performed to assemble a lamp using laser cut and some electronic components parts. The idea of the lamp is based on the idea Bulbing-light, which makes decorative lamps:

These lamps use an acrylic plate on which an image is engraved, then is a light under the acrylic plate which makes it shine, eventually you need to have a stand alone to sustain the plate and engraved acrylic.
We can divide the lamp in 3 major steps:
- Acrylic plate engraved
- Support or base
- Electronics light
Design
I used AutoCAD for design the engraved plate and Catia for design the support box that attach the engraved plate.
Make
I used the laser cutter located in the FabLab Puebla University, the model of the laser cutter is CFL-CMA 1200. For the laser cutting and engraving software I used SmartCarve
Building
Once the engraved plate and box parts support were cut, i built the support box and placed the engraved plate .
Electronic Light
Finally the electronic part of the lamp was made, RGB LEDs were used to allow color changes of the lamp. A printed circuit board with a selector switch was used to change the color. An emergency charger for cell was used as supply, this charging system and energy storage works with USB. All different colors were tested.
Result
Vinyl Cutter
For the vinyl cutter assignment I make the name and a picture for one machine named "Huapango", i had to vectorized all the images and text.
