Design and produce something with a digital fabrication process (incorporating computer-aided design and manufacturing) not covered in another assignment, documenting the requirements that your assignment meets, and including everything necessary to reproduce it. Possibilities include (but are not limited to) composites, textiles, biotechnology, robotics, folding, and cooking.


I practice volleyball in my free time, this is the reason that I will do a knee brace.

First, I scan my knee with the help of the Sense Scanner.

As we can see, it is planned in the “Skanect” scanner software.

Then I used the Autodesk MeshMixer program to be able to cut the figure and have only the part of the knee

Then I used Slicer for Fusion 360 program to be able to generate the mold (I used the option Interlocked Slicer) and cut in the mdf 3mm.

After, I used the Trotec Laser Cutting Machine.

Assembling the parts

Then I started to assemble the pieces

I used a mold release agent,epoxy resin: Pox bak 1206 and in this case the ratios are 5 to 1 by weight with respect to catalyst.

I started to cover the piece with film.

Then I put Vaseline

I cut jute fabric and I had to dip it with the mixture to put it in the mold

I expected it to dry.

Finally I took out the remains

I proved in my knee
