THE BOARD

I decided to make the LED array board because I am semi-obsessed with blinking LEDs. Here is the board:

After the milling, stuffing and prgramming process, success!

I used Neil's c code at first, but really wanted to get my name scroling across the array. I was inspired by Astrid's Fab Academy Page from last year where she spelled out her name. I first got that working with my name:

Not being satisfied with that, I set out to make my name scroll. The first thing I did was create file in Excel to map the array. I mapped the LED locations in a matrix and changed the font to white. This way, when I drew each frame and changed the fill of each cell to black, the LEDs that I needed to turn on in the code were highlighted. The file is here: letter mapping

Once I programmed the chip with my new and improved scrolling code....voila!
