This week's assignment...to make the FabISP, and in-system programmer.

The first step was to mill the circuit board on a Roland Modela Milling Machine. I took a piece of copper-clad millable circuit board and after several broken bits, broken leads and lots of coffee, got this:

The next step, soldering on all of the tiny components. My friend questioned my ability to solder surface mount components, but after I had soldered on a few, I was filled with confidence! Here are the first few:

And then the finished product, complete with beautiful rainbow ribbon cable!

Since Anna was in the lab on Saturday, we were able to test it and program it and it worked! My own programmer...yay!
