About Me

:(

Welcome to my short bio, I am Saif Shraideh, a 27-year-old mechanical design engineer. Born and raised in Amman, Jordan. I have always wanted to solve, create and change; solve problems by creating innovative methods to change the way we do things. I have the desire to play a significant role in the advancement of the mechanical/aerospace industry.

Since I was young, I was always fascinated by machines and things in motion. I always wanted to take them apart and see what was inside, and to understand what made them behave like that. Whether they were electronics, toys, or blenders, pretty much anything that I could put my hands on, within five minutes, was destroyed. It definitely upset my mother, but at least I always fed my curiosity. That was one of the main drivers that pushed me to start my career path in engineering.

I fill my time with an array of hobbies. I play a few instruments, mainly the guitar, and I usually record and create music. Every time I do that, time no longer exists, any emotion that I have disappears. Music is brain candy; it has always been a great deal in my life and will always be. I try to stay healthy and play sports, but it never worked out for me, so the money that was meant to go for a gym membership goes to McDonalds instead. At the moment, I have figured out a way to keep myself motivated and run every day. I also use that time to either think about my next decision or to take a break from what I am doing. Yet, one can never phase out McDonalds from their diet, so I try to avoid it by cooking.

I received my bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Exeter, and my master's degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Imperial College London. Before getting into Fab Academy, I used to work as a mechanical design engineer for a design company, as well as freelance on the side. What got me interested in Fab Academy is the amount of knowledge someone can get in only 6 months. I always wanted to learn coding but have never made the time for it, but now with Fab Academy, there is no way out!

At the moment, my main focus revolves around the aerospace industry, I am mostly interested in propulsion systems and wing designs. Bio mimicry is not a new field, however, there is still a lot to be done in terms of research, and that's a direction I would like to look more into. As the drone era is approaching, I would like to use my knowledge gained from my previous experience and Fab Academy to tap into this world.
