12. Mechanical and Manchine Desing

For this activity, he mentions that we must do the following:

• Design a machine that includes mechanism, actuation, automation and application.

• Build the mechanical parts and operate them manually.

• Document the group project and your individual contribution. we met as a group and decided to carry out this work with a CNC Maslow.

We start with the description of the Maslow CNC

Maslow CNC is an automated router. The machine is capable of cutting objects over two meters long and one meter high. Equipped with a versatile tool, the unit requires a unique setup to get up and running. Typically used for milling and routing large sheets of wood in garages. The machine is tilted 90 degrees, allowing the user to place the machine against the wall, freeing up a large amount of space. Maslow CNC comes with tensioners and belts suspended in the air, requiring minimal effort for the stepper motors to drag the cutter across the wide surface area.

Single Assignment:

Having all the mentioned we distribute ourselves in tasks and contribution for our group project. Start with the design of the pulleys as shown in the following images.

Then I used Autodesk Inventor Professional that helped me in the design of the pulleys

Leaving the design as follows:

The result would be this:

Group Assignment

With the teamwork that we did, I learned the following: "There are no problems that we cannot solve together and very few that we can solve by ourselves" – the author Lyndon Johnson. We leave our work and share what we have learned in the following link.

It is always good to have safety precautions

When used correctly, this machine is very safe. However, some safety precautions must be taken to avoid injury. These include, but are not limited to: • Always follow the safety guidelines and instructions included with the router or other tool. • Always wear ear and eye protection when operating the machine. • Use adequate dust collection or wear a respirator. Breathing material dust can be harmful. • Use proper lifting techniques when loading/unloading materials. • Always be careful when connecting/removing the sled . This set weighs about 20 pounds. • NEVER leave your machine running unattended !
