18. Invention, Intellectual property and Income

This week I worked on defining my final project idea and started to getting used to the documentation process.

Replication and Licensing - Key Aspects

The final project is characterized by its focus on knowledge dissemination and facilitating replication. The main webpage provides various resources such as laser cutting designs, 3D printing files, electronic circuits, as well as detailed information on project operation and explanation. The primary goal is to offer a learning module and promote knowledge dissemination, without seeking mass project expansion or economic benefits through patents. While the author does not intend to establish a specific methodology or become a provider of teaching equipment, others are encouraged to take the project as a starting point and develop additional initiatives based on it. Therefore, all relevant information related to the project is shared for this purpose.Regarding funding and patent protection, it is not considered necessary to seek these resources. The priority is to promote the free dissemination of knowledge and enable others to build upon the project's foundations. The licensing issue is crucial to address. An open license is established for all resources and information provided in relation to the project. This means that interested parties have the right to use, modify, and share the material, as long as proper attribution is given and the same open license is respected when redistributing modifications or derived versions. The choice of this license aims to stimulate collaboration and collective advancement in the fields of research and technological development. In summary, the final project is widely disseminated to facilitate replication and promote knowledge dissemination. There is no pursuit of mass project expansion or economic benefits through patents. An open license is encouraged, ensuring freedom of use and modification, as long as the terms of attribution and license are respected when sharing the material. This form of dissemination aims to foster collaboration and collective progress in the academic and technological realms. I will openly share all aspects of my project, including its design and code, under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) license. This allows others to freely share, copy, adapt, and redistribute the project. However, it is imperative that proper credit is given (along with an indication of any modifications made), that the same license is used when sharing, and that the project is not used for commercial purposes. This commitment to open sharing fosters a collaborative and academic environment, promoting knowledge exchange and collective advancement in the field.
