14. Networking and communications

This week I worked on making one of my own boards and and an arduino talk to each other and also gave each board an adress

Group Assignment

For the group assignment we had to get two boards to talk to each other. We did this by connect the boards with wires and writing code for them to work with each other. We used two people’s custom boards and completed the assignment.

Idividual Assignment

For this assignment ised my button board and arduino connected to eachther and sent code to them. For the code used a 2021 Wheaton Fab Academy students (https://fabacademy.org/2021/labs/wheaton/students/brandon-witter/projects/networkingAndCommunications/networkingAndCommunications.html) code then changed it to do what I needed.

A 1 would tell the arduino to flash its LED and a zero would tell the arduino to tell the button board to turn on its LED. One thing cool that I realized is that if I typed 4 0s into the serial monitor then set it is that the light would stay on for 20 seconds ( Its set to stay on for 5 seconds with 1 0) ana also if I type 01 they’ll both turn onat the same time.
