My name is Filippo Moia. I am a graphic designer, currently my main client is an Italian streetwear brand.
In the past I worked in various fields: mainly as a bicycle courier, but I have also worked in a print shop, I was a decorator and handyman for a while, as well as a professional flat-pack forniture assembler.

One of the things I did in the past that still makes me quite proud was organizing a publishers’ fair that took place across a few years in London, Milan, Bruxelles and Oostende. It was called Feet First Fair.

My background

I was born in Milan. Shortly after my family moved to Munich. Later on in the years I moved to London.
Cruel city.
I attended a classical studies high school, I then started a graphic design communication degree at the Politecnico in Milan. After the first year I decided to move to London, where I completed my bachelors degree at the University of the Arts, Chealsea college.

Sorcery

Not to long ago, I was researching the figure of a comic books author that was quite influential to me: Grant Morrison. I came across a series of videos (such as this or this one) that made me think I (or anyone else) could be a sorcerer.
I know it may sound strange, but it was important for me as, in Morrison’s definition of magic, I found the hope of being able to affect the world that surrounds me.

It has helped me to find the will to become who I want to be. It has helped me to understand to take responsability for the implications of my actions and how they affect me, my fellow humans and the World as a whole.

In some way this definition of magic could be digital as it is based on the symbolic interpratation of reality and one’s actions.
