Thinking about my final project

The first thing I did was to think about my final project and the road that I had to go through to reach to the final result that requires economical investment a lot of effort and time. In that road many people help me also I use references of projects previously done by other people if it were not for that reason I would not have reached the final result. I also believe that the knowledge should be open for every one but we have to recognize the work of other people it's not ok to take the work of others and pass as ours to make money and these are some of my thoughts that have been reinforced though the Fabacademy.

In my case I had a reference of a pergola that help me a lot to understand the assembly of the structure and also the retractable system and what I did was use digital fabrication to create a low cost structure changing the material and the way that it's assembled doing it by modules that allow to increase or reduce the size keeping the railings systems and also complement it with an automated retractable systems.

The big goal was to make a big pergola for adult people but the Fabacademy demands a lot of effort and are a lot of things that had to be done in the right time so I thought that was better if use just one module to assembly the pergola in it's tiny version using real scale parts and develop the electronics and the retractable systems so I decide to create this version for pets.

Future possibilities

The pergola for pets has a promising future this time I tested the electronic systems and the assembly structure and is working just have to make a few adjustments and the next step is to make a big one as it was thought from the beginning also will be great to add more sensors and take advantage of the rails systems to make retractable walls or add more accessories.

To reach that goal will be great to involve the Fablab network and FablabZOI to take the project forward.

Dissemination of the final project

The dissemination plan:

Creative commons

I start from Creative commons that catch my attention reading the how license works also the frequently asked questions and the licensing types to understand which license is better for my project.

This is the license that I chose.

Licencia Creative Commons
Pergola for pets por Danny Vallejo se distribuye bajo una Licencia Creative Commons AtribuciĆ³n-NoComercial-CompartirIgual 4.0 Internacional.
Basada en una obra en http://fabacademy.org/2019/labs/zoi/students/danny-imbaquingo/final%20project.html.

Conclusion:

It's important to know the different types of legal protection and plan the dissemination of our developments that are available internationally and locally that can give support for our projects.

Make a plan for the future development of the pergola is important to take the project forward.
