I used Rhinoceros for modelling and Brazil for rendering.
I modelled and rendered a 3D knitting machine as my possible final project.
Actually I gave up making a 3D crocheting machine but am going to make a 3D knitting machine because I found it will be easier to make and better for building a 3D structure (I will add a detailed explanation and do a structure test by simplified physical model at the next week).
I referred to this video below for making an idea of the machine structure.
Here is the results of rendering below.
Quality: High (above)
It took about 5 minutes. (800*600pixels)
Quality: Low (above)
It took about 5 minutes also. (800*600pixels)
Quality: Medium (above)
It took about 15 minutes. (800*600pixels)
It seemed to take more 30 minutes when I tried to render this view by high quality so I gave up doing it.
It seemed to be because this view has more colored area than the first view, which has a lot of white area, I didn't expect this difference would make such a big gap in processing time, though.
Here you can see where you can change the rendering quality.
([Toolbar]Brazil/Render Settings../[Window of Brazil 2.0(Version) Settings]Simple Antializing)
If you see a different panel when clicking the gray bar named 'Simple Antialising', probably you can see 'Show Simple Controls' at the bottom of this panel('Simple Antialising'). After clicking 'Show Simple Controls', I guess you can see the same panel to this image.
When you want to use material settings, go to [Toolbar]Brazil/Render Shortcuts/Material Editor .
You will see an open icon on the toolbar at the top of the window and you need to select a material file (.rmtl file), which can be downloaded from the website above for instance.
