Week 3 - Computer-Controlled Cutting

Overview​

This week focuses on computer-controlled cutting techniques, including laser cutting and vinyl cutting. Students will explore digital fabrication methods for 2D design and learn how to operate CNC cutting machines.

Assignment Goals​

  • Characterize your lasercutter's focus, power, speed, rate, kerf, and joint clearance
  • Design, lasercut, and document a parametric construction kit
  • Cut something on the vinylcutter
