Mehndi ("Henna Tattoos") is an old Indian artform, traditionally used on brides before wedding ceremonies. A paste - consisting of a plant based dye - is applied to the skin manually. The designs are usually ornate and complex, and require quite a bit of skill to apply.

While there exist henna stencils (which allow you to print designs on sticky paper that can be applied to skin,  then traced over manually with henna), I thought it might be interesting to build a "Mehndi Machine," a sort of CNC extrusion machine that uses mehndi as its material. Such a machine would allow you to create designs digitally that can be directly printed onto skin. This might be too complicated, but here is a doodle of the idea:
