Computer-Controled Machining

the solo asinement this week was to make something big and the group asinment was to see the limits of the mill that we have.

Group Asinments

the thing that we made was a phone stand. to make it we used the program __________ it takes in a jpg and after processing it outputs a file that our mill can read.here are some images of the process.

solo Asinment

for this asinmet I worked with a classmate to make a ballista proto type. the asinment was to use a conputercontroled mill to make something that is large. We designed the parts in fustion 360 after we made the design we started to mill the parts here are some of the images of the milling process.

after the milling we had to cut the tab to liberate the parts. here is us doing that.

we then sanded all the parts here is how we used a hand held sander

then we started to asemble the parts first we made the track and then the rack here is a photo of the rack

we then conected the track to the rack here is that image

one of the things that we made is the ratchet gear and the lock that makes it work. heare is an image of that gear.

after that we detached the rack to drill holes for the ropes. We then twisted the ropes in such a way that it can fling objects. when were twisting the ropes the rack started to come apart becuse of the force generated by the ropes. here is a image of the rack with the ropes in and then a image of the spiting rack.
