18. Invention, intellectual property, and income¶
This week I worked on defining a plan of dissemination of my final project
this week is about submitted a plan to protect my work, giving credits to whom I build upon their work, and driving a plan of how my work can be used by others.
referring to the world international property organization, the Intellectual property (IP) refers to creations of the mind, such as inventions; literary and artistic works; designs; and symbols, names, and images used in commerce.
Intellectual property can be filled in Jordan through the Department of The National Library through their agreement with the world international property organization it details the process and what kind of work can be submitted, sadly I could not find a copy of the agreement in English only in Arabic.
to fill an international intellectual property, I can contact a private company Abu-Ghazaleh intellectual property, it is very costly, and might cost around 20,000$.
referring to the copyright alliance, A copyright is a collection of rights that automatically vest to someone who creates an original work of authorship like a literary work, song, movie, or software. These rights include the right to reproduce the work, to prepare derivative works, to distribute copies, and to perform and display the work publicly.
copyrights can be used through licenses, each represents a different way of protection, for example, one can keep the right of using their work to themselves, fair use on the other hand is a way to keep credits to themselves but assists in enriching the general public through access to creative work.
after some research, I found that in Jordan the terms copyright and intellectual property refer to the same thing and seem to be mess used.
Final project license¶
As the purpose of my project to assist startups in my company to collect data to develop their projects, I want my project to free of use, but to keep my works and the work of the people I used their libraries credits, I will use the fab license, as it allows the reproduction of my project and maintains the acknowledgment of my work.
