Assignments<

This einteenth week's asignments are :

  • Individual :
    • Develop a plan for dissemination of your final project.
    • Complete your final project, tracking your progress.

Dissemination Plan<

It is not in my plan for now to disseminate my final project widely. However, I consider to share my work publicly in the scientific literature as a frugal method to measure fog liquid water content. The article is not written yet and should be written in the following months as a part of my PhD thesis. This consideration made me develop the project in a way that could easily be reproduced hence I used an already existing Open Source framework : the Open UC2 toolbox.

End of project report<

What tasks have been completed and what tasks remain ?<

The completed tasks are :

  • Develop a functional measuring instrument
  • Integrate it to the existing test bench
  • Verify it can run for an hour
  • Develop an interface that display live data
  • Develop an interface that allows data to be stored

The remaining tasks are :

  • Calibrate correctyly the instrument
  • Verify that its measurments are repeatable
  • Verify it can run for more than an hour

Future possibilities<

The future possibilities are to measure scattered angles signals. It was not expected I could already measure one for this project but I already started implementing this feature. These signals would allow the user to characterize the fog droplets sizes distribution.

What's working ? What's not ?<

The global measuring instrument is working : both signals are readable and coherent.

The calibration is not done yet : the absolute values are not yet meaningfull and the "zero" of the scattered signal is not working well.

What questions need to be resolved ?<

How to calibrate correctly the instrument ?

Planned what will happen when ?<

Not precisely but the instrument will be improved throughout my PhD thesis.

What have you learned ?<

A lot ! Each learning outcomes can be found at the beginning of each week's documentation.
