 Assignment

complete your final project, tracking your progress:

                                 WIND GENERATOR                                                     TESTING WIND GENERATOR
The wind generator converts mechanical energy transmitted to the shaft into electrical energy, and has 2 parts:
  • The rotor comprises a shaft, and the two plates with 18 permanent magnets will be moved by wind speed or by a dynamometer.
  • The stator comprises 9 coils, 3 phase, and star-connected.
Round magnets produce a rotating magnetic flux which will induce voltage in the stator coils, producing a three phase alternating voltage; it also has a bridge rectifier to convert energy to DC voltage.

The speed in these small wind turbines can reach 1800 rpm, and then produce max 2.5A, which would be ideal to charge batteries.

what has worked? what hasn't?

So far I have worked that electrical performance. It is the main.

I need to keep testing the limits of the machine.

     - The ROTOR.

     - The shaft.
     - The estator.
     - Electrical circuit.

The electronics are in process. I had problems with  "Processing"
as seen in the video. I must continue working to achieve good
interfece of datos. It will be required on future projects.

what will happen when?

When the generator turn expected speed (to 1800 rpm) must generate
a phase voltage and must be checked at the test bench.

They will perform among others the following practices:
Study of the functioning of a system of wind power generation: Display of sine waves and polar tension. Mapping characteristic curves Generator.
or three-phase voltage according to the rotational speed.

or DC voltage depending on the rotation speed.
or torque as a function of the generated current.
or three-phase active power according to the rotation speed.
or DC power in function of the rotation speed.
or three-phase reactive power according to the rotation speed.
Calculation of constant or torque / current and voltage / generator rotational speed.
o Implement the vibrational analysis, etc.

DATA

what have you learned?
By making this machine I meet great people, and. Meet great people learned:

  • Develop a idea
  • Inventor
  • To create the routing of electronic boards with Eagle.
  • To mill them in Modela.
  • To program with fabduino Ide,
  • Uses of micro electronic components.
  • To use the FabLab machines
  • ... and more
