2. COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN

Activities to do:

To model(raster, vector , 2D ,3D, render ,animate, simulate) a possible final project and post it on your class page.

2D Modelling

Raster - GIMP

GIMP is a free and open-source raster graphics editor used for image manipulation, image editing, converting images into different formats. It’s a user friendly software for beginners. It’s really useful for resizing images.

Vector - Inkscape

Inkscape is a free and open source vector graphics editor. The software is designed with a lot of drawing and shaping tools, along with calligraphy tools. It’s really useful for creating illustrations like cartoons, logos, clip art.

I made a dougnut using few basic tools.

3D Modelling

Fusion 360

Fusion 360 is a cloud-based CAD,CAM tool for collaborative product development.

I really like fusion 360 due to these reasons:

1.Operating systems

It runs beautifully on both windows and mac. It offers the same exact functionality on both systems, which is a great feature for collaborative work.

2.Cloud Integration

The program runs on the machine but saves all files to the cloud, so one can access on different machines. Fusion 360 offers a huge amount of flexibility and gives you the tools to get the job done regardless of your device, locations, or the nature of the project.

3.Modelling tools

Fusion 360 has a robust suite of tools for modelling, with great sketch tools and features, it’s quick and easy to create solid models. This also makes it easy for beginners to learn CAD modelling.

4.Working with multiple models in the same project

Fusion 360 allows the designer to build multiple bodies, components and assemblies in a single project. Various versions can be saved for single project.
