Assignment 11

Applications & Implications.

"Necessity is mother of invention & creativity is mother of innovation."

What will it do?

It is a Robot which can be controlled wirelessly using bluetooth or DTMF. It will have Mecanum wheels which increases its mobolity to 8 Directions. An EMP Generator will be placed on the top of Robotic Arm. It will generate an High Voltage Electro-Magnetic-Pulse through a coil. If this pulse is transmitted in any circuit, it will currupt/destroy the circuit.

who's done what beforehand?

Many EMP emitter devices have been made but all of them are of large size. This robot will be compact and can be operated remotely.

What will you design?

I am planning to design a robot which will be compact in size & can be very easy to control. It will be battery operated & can be controlled from long distances.

What materials and components will be used?

I will use acrylic for main body of robot, which will be laser cut. The mecanum wheels of the robot will be 3D printed using PLA or ABS material. Insulated copper wire will be used for making the coil of EMP emitter.

Where will come from?

Some components will be purchased online from websites like Amazon, Flipcart, Robu.in, etc. Others will be bought from local stores depending upon avalibility & cost.

How much will they cost?

The total cost estimation of the Robot will be around 6000 INR.

What parts and systems will be made?

The Mecanum wheels of the robot will bw mde using additive method(3D printing). The main circuit of the bot will be designed & milled in lab.

What processes will be used?

CAD for designing various parts. Computer controlled cutting for cutting acrylic body. 3D printing for wheels.

What questions need to be answered?

How will it be evaluated?

A short video will be made showing all functions. The robot will destroy the circuit of a small calculator. The robot can also be operated by the examiner via a call.

Your project should incorporate 2D and 3D design, additive and subtractive fabrication processes, electronics design and production, embedded microcontroller interfacing and programming, system integration and packaging

yes

Where possible, you should make rather than buy the parts of your project

yes

Projects can be separate or joint, but need to show individual mastery of the skills, and be independently operable

yes
