6. 3D Scanning and printing

We use equipment both to scan elements in 3D and also to make 3D prints, as well as to take into account the safety aspects in the use and handling of these, these processes are developed in the Digital Manufacturing laboratory.

Sequence made for 3D scanning

The 3D scanner we use is a standard one that performs laser pulses for 3D scanning.

The software used is the 3D scanner’s own MFStudio, we open the program and create the new project

assign a name and save it

Then we proceed to calibrate it in this case we use a calibration card of the 3D scanner

Once calibrated we proceed to put the element to scan in this case I put a rodent

And the scanned element is generated in points

Then we proceed to mesh to generate the consolidation of the scanned element

Sequence made for 3D Printing

We use the 3D printer so we install the white PLA filament for our printing.

We use CURA to configure the printing parameters as a support for the design elaborated in this case a funnel that will be part of my final project for which it takes an average of 3 hours.

as a result a funnel that fits the liquid mixer project
