Week 1. Principles and practices and project management. First week started on Wednesday by a lecture by Neil Gershenfeld of MIT’s Center For Bits and Atoms concentrating on the matters of the principles and practices of digital fabrication and project management. On the next day, we got started with our web sites. Ferdinand Meier gave a very wide lesson to the subject and we practised during the session. The programs used are Bracets and Mercurial. Languages for programming the websites are mostly HTML and CSS.

As a home assignment, we had to propose a final project and start our web pages. I found some inspiration from the sites of earlier Fab Academy students as well as from a web page called Instructables. Web pages are started and developing on the go.

At the end of the first week, we had an introduction to Linux and Mercurial and uploaded our newly made web pages to the local server.
