• Haystack

  Haystack is an art school located in eastern Maine. It has a Fab Lab facility and participates in Fab Academy. In the past people have taken Fab Academy through Haystack in order to learn how to operate the equipments in Haystack's fab lab. Haystack made participation in Fab Academy open to public. I was connected to the program through my high school and began Fab Academy. Unfortunately, Haystack has decided they are no longer interested in participating in fab academy. They felt the program suffered from their lack of a proper on-site instructor and wished to restrict the Fab Lab to Haystack students only for the first part of the summer. In addition, Haystack employees were short on time because the director was retiring and offices and equipment was being moved back to Haystack, creating a logistical nightmare.

• Fab Academy

  This website is meant to document my progress in the Fab Academy class. It contains information on myself, my assignments, and my final project. Unfortunately, I was rendered unable to continue with the class when the Haystack school decided to cease their envolvement with Fab Academy. As such, I was able to finish neither my assignments nor my final project. I have documentment my assignments regardless in the hopes of providing myself a reference which I can use to remind myself of the process I used to complete the assignments. I hope to eventually take Fab Academy again and earn a certificate. Unfortunately, there are no longer any nearby Fab Labs participating in Fab Academy so I will most likely be unable to take it again until after my graduation.
