Getting Started

Since I have prior knowledge of Adobe suite [mostly with Photoshop and Illustrator], I've decided to try something new. I've downloaded My Paint,GIMP, Krita , LibreCAD and Inkscape. This week the the assignment was to make our final projects using new programs. To make this weeks assignment I decided to use Inkscape so I made a small step by step GIF just so you can see how to get started with the interface. If you have any experience with graphic programs like Illustrator, Photoshop or even paint you'll find the program pretty intuitive after a couple of hours with it.

My final project is a safety device for children that are near a big body of water like a sea or a swimming pool. They wear it on their back like a small and light backpack.

When the child goes in the water sonsors are activated and a massage is sent to the parents. The device masures the childs puls and breathing as well as the water preasure and temperture.

If the child starts to experience shortness of breath, elivatet pulse or a change in water preasure the devise starts beeping and alerts the parents and the lifeguard . *The lifeguard post will have an alert send to it as well.

In most cases this would be the final action of the device cycle because someone will hear the device and help the child. Once an adult will reach the child with ht device he or she will follow the instructions on screen to turn off the beeping and reset the device.

In some cases however, there wouldn't be a close enough adult and the child will start to sink and drown, in this moment the devices’ pressure sensors will trigger a chain reaction puncturing the emergency oxygen tank inflating the floating gear.

The child reaches the surface and is floating. Once an adult reaches the child he or she will take the child back to land and remove the device. The device will need some maintenance and replacement of oxygen tank.

3D

My favorite 3D program is SolidWorks so naturally Rhino is my biggest challenge. This is my first attempt with the program and what I've managed to learn (it's not much but it's a start)
