Hi, my name is Eka Prawira, and I am a team member of Fab Lab Bali. We are a fairly new node that launched in October 2023 as a result of Bali Fab Fest 2022. Besides working at Fab Lab Bali, I am currently employed as a full-stack web developer for a company based in London.

"So what do you do?" Sometimes I have trouble answering that basic question. I've been called many things: a maker, programmer, designer, instructor, woodworker, metalworker, welder, animator, hobbyist engineer, amateur cook, and many more. It's not uncommon for me to spend my time in front of the computer writing a program one minute, and then the next minute putting on a respirator to cut some plywood or steel, and then the next minute designing a bicycle in Fusion 360.

Why Join Fab Academy?

I graduated at the top of my class from Swinburne University in Melbourne, where I studied Digital Media Design with a specialization in 3D animation. I believe that creating something, whether it's digital or physical, is my way of expressing my creativity. That's why I like to learn new things that pique my interests, mostly on my own. I taught myself how to code, learned about product design, CAD modeling, joined metalworking and woodworking workshops, and many more. However, there is one thing that I've always been interested in learning but never managed to learn on my own: electronics. I think Fab Academy will be the perfect gateway for me into the world of electronics.
