Toy Buffet 2023
More than ten thousand donated toys became a universe of choice, dignity, and delight for nearly 2,500 children from lower-income families.
A toy shop designed around choice.
Food from the Heart transformed T11 Square into twenty-eight stalls where every child could choose three gifts for themselves.
Held on 10 November 2023, the Toy Buffet turned more than 10,000 donated toys into a generous public experience. Its “Space Heroes: Across Infinite Possibilities” theme framed each child not simply as a recipient, but as the hero of their own story.
Singapore Polytechnic hosted the event with Food from the Heart and partners from the Ministry of Social and Family Development. The open layout, colourful stalls, and large character installation helped make an enormous logistical effort feel welcoming and celebratory.
A four-metre bear that could be seen across the square.
The low-poly cardboard character gave the event a clear visual anchor and connected the space theme to Singapore Polytechnic’s culture of making.

Build something children could find immediately.
The bear’s faceted cardboard surfaces kept its construction visible, while the scarf, SP heart, and smaller companion gave it a warm personality. At four metres tall, it worked as a beacon across a busy venue.
LAUNCH MOMENTTurn the opening into an event.
A dedicated mechanism added movement and theatre to the launch, helping partners and guests mark the start of a day centred on generosity.
The installation framed a much larger act of giving.
Teams from Food from the Heart, Singapore Polytechnic, government, communications, and the wider community made the experience possible.
