We decided to make a cocktail machine with a simple interface. The user can select a drink or a mix and the machine will prepare it automatically.
The machine is divided into submodules with each one having design, fabrication and assembly.
The mechanism is built upon using linear guides and a belt driven by a NEMA 17 stepper to move the drink cup back and forth under the pouring openings.
The mixing mechanism is used to mix the various juices. The mechanism extends using a rod which can rotate to mix the juices at the final stage. The extending mechanism is designed on a lead screw driven by a NEMA 17 stepper and a DC motor to rotate the shaft for mixing.
We used pumps to push the juices into the cup. The pumps are controlled using H-bridges.
The whole design was assembled on Fusion 360 and the design was fabricated using 6mm plywood.
We used Arduino UNO, stepper drivers, LCD, H-bridges modules, DC motors and steppers.
