what will it do?
It will make the process of germination of seeds easier, provide water and light when needed. While having a design that can be placed on the living room centered around appreciate how the plants grow.

What will you design?
The idea is to make a Cradle like structure that will help you to grow your baby plants :)
All the interface shall not overcome the plants on the visual aspect. The idea is to make a simple to use device, that will need to be refiled with water when the icon is turned on
what materials and components will be used?
Considering the design idea plywood will be used as material for the main structure, LED lights, a water pump and some electronics to actuate. A more detailed BOM will be uploaded after a while.
where will they come from?
The goal is to source as much as possible locally and from the FabAcademy inventory. If needed I will by from external sources, especially the LED light strips.

what parts and systems will be made?
The idea is to create two main systems, water and light sensing and providing. Then all will be integrated via electronics maybe an external application will provide menu for further configurations regarding water and light needs for each plant type.
what processes will be used?
To fabricate this various processes will be used:
- CNC machining for the case.
- CNC milling for the electronic production
- Thermoforming or fiber composite for the water tank
- 3D printing for some features.
- Also some sensors will be fabricated usign vinyl cutter.
what questions need to be answered?
- How to fabricate the water tank and integrate the water pump.
- How to program and integrate the application to configure the irrigation settings.
- How to keep track of time.
how will it be evaluated?
If it can provide water and light for the seedings to develop properly. I will consider it a success because I have a house garden were I grow some veggies, especially lettuce, and this device will help me to grow healthy seedings to be transplanted.
