The idea of my final project is to build a machine that can transform clothing items of a general size into a tailor fit unit. The example here will be a pair of trousers which size and cut is general. Then by simple automated operations of sewing and cutting, this general size pants will be transformed into a tailor fitted pair. The machine consists of a sewing machine fixed on a x and y axis (the machine may include a cutting mechanism if feasible within the timeframe of this work). The cloth is fixed.The machine takes as an input the measurements of a client. For the moment the measurements will be taken manually, but one can imagine an automated way to take the measurements. For now, this system will only be tested for a pair of pants, but it could also work for different clothing items.
