CREATING A COMPOSITE
This week's conceptualisation are some patterns in floors I've been collecting from some time now. I really like to make some thing that can be repeated lots of times an that also can be used as a superficie.
I Use AutoCad to generate the first ideas.
Having once decided I use hatch tool to mark each different part that has a different height.
Once having this done I worked in sketchup to generate the same mold in 3D to understand how everithing works together.
Once having everithing clear I imported the files in the pathworks, for dis is allwais very useful to use layers from the Autocad Drowing as this layers are imported also in this file an can be turned on and off to make the diferent paths.
Having al the paths done I started the machining.
Sanding this big pieces took some time and then my instructors adviced me to seal the wood with resing, this make the proces more long, it took 3 days to have this molds completely done.
For this assignment I'm ussing recin in a proportion of 100 parts from part A and 20 parts of part B.
This is how the final molds look like.
I combined the resin with five layers of different fabrics.
Once having all together I use clips to let everithing for one night and the next day I check it out. Sadly this didn't work, my instructors told me I had forgoten to use plastic in the top of both molds before putting the recine in and that why everinth got stuck together.
SECOND TRY
This time I makined the same molds but in a smaller size, I cutt some of the fabrics with the lacer cutter to have the same shape as the molds and then put them in with the recin. The results were prety good and this time I didn't forgot the plastic layer.
