A customized alarm clock

I would like to make an alarm clock of wood which would compliment nicely to my nightstand.
Moreover, I wish it would wake me up with the music I choose (using an usb stick) and would light up a small lamp (a "detachable" lamp that could be taken out and used as a flashlight).
I would also prefer a display composed by LEDs in different colors.
Additionally, it would be rather useful to add a double bottom in order to create a box above that would give an easy access to the electronics in case of problems or need for change at a later stage.
