3D Scanning and Printing
This week the assigment was to scan and print something in 3D. I decided to scan myself using the xbox kinect hardware. I sat in an office chair, and slowly spun around, while pondering the meaning of life in a pose similar to that of Rodin's "The Thinker." I got the file and imported onto my mac. I then cleaned up the design in netfab, and cut it down to size. Next I printed it on the makerbot replicator, which took about 45 minutes. It was very cool to see myself slowly emerge from the printer. I also time lapsed the print, and uploaded it to youtube:
