My main interest is in Design and Education and how both can complement each other. My research projects are focused on computer supported education that makes use of technology to reach out to different types of learners as well as disadvantaged learners. Further to that I have discvovered art making for myself, especially the development of sound objects. I am hoping that my major project for this course will be an sound object. In my spare time, I maintain my beloved motorcycle Xanthe (DR650). In return Xanthe is taking me to amazing places throughout Australia. While not riding the motorbike I meditate and practice throat and overtone singing.
I was born in Germany and migrated to Australia 22 years ago. I have been an academic for the past 22 years. While working for the University of the Sunshine Coast, I founded the Hive FabLab in 2019.
You can read some of my publications on scholar.google.com Uwe Terton’s Publications. A project that i loved doing was building my own shipping container home: Djarugal Hill House.
