Week 17 : Invention, Intellectual Property & Income

☛ Assignment

☐ 1. Develop a plan for dissemination of your final project

☐ 2. Prepare drafts of your summary slide (presentation.png, 1920x1080) and video clip (presentation.mp4, 1080p HTML5, < ~minute, < ~10 MB) and put them in your root directory

☛ Future Posiibilities

There is several future possibilities for this project. Firt, I have to remake the last version of the boards with the modifications I had to make on it, they're pretty Frankeinsteined. Once this is done, I have to write a code that allow the mechanisms to make movements that are more fluid.

▸ Open Design

I will publish the project once I make the modifications I need, under a Creative Common License, the same that is used on this website : CC BY-NC 4.0 = Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International.
This License allows anyone to Share (Copy and redistribute the medium in any medium or format), Adapt (remix, transform, and build upon the material), if he follows the terms of the license, which are the Attribution, which must be credited by providing a link to the license, and if changes were made on the project. The project can't be use for commercial purposes.

▸ Testing & Improvements

This project will need more testing, with users, and this project can be improved in a lot of ways.

☛ Slide & Video

Making a video presentation of the project wasn't an easy thing to do, I captured so much videos through these months, it is hard to choose materials in order to make an exhaustive video of the work that has been done. I edited my video using Adobe After Effect, I was used to Adobe Premiere when I was in highschool, the interface, as with all Adobe's softwares, is very similar, to cut and resize videos, it works the same way. What I did, befor beginning the edition, was to find aa music, it took me days to find a material that is free to use and cool to listen (in my opinion), the Youtube channel that saved me was the one of Wavytrbl

I deleted my first test by mistake, but I had filmed it so here it is : A lot of material are missing, but it is maybe more easily watchable than the last version.

Another export with all the video material I chose for the final video, obut here I am at 1:48 minutes, so far from 1 minute.

The last export before the final one. It was really cool to go back into video editing 10 years later ! Still, I am disapointed with the pace of this video, I will have to edit another one which will be longer.

I choose a simple picture for the slide. I think that the final state of the machine is satisfying, as most of the process can be seen through this. But the electronics part is missing, as the fuction that is not clear with a single image.
