Week 3: Computer-aided design

AutoCAD

AutoCAD is a computer-aided design (CAD) program used for 2-D and 3-D design and drafting. AutoCAD is developed and marketed by Autodesk Inc. and was one of the first CAD programs that could be executed on personal computers.

I wanted to create a simple drawing to familiarize myself with some tools

For this exercise I used the Spline (SPL) tool. This tool is used to creates a smooth curve that passes through or near a set of fit points, or that is defined by the vertices in a control frame.

Specifies the first point of the spline, either the first fit point or the first control vertex, depending on the current method.

Closes the spline by defining the last point to be coincident with the first. By default, closed splines are periodic, maintaining curvature continuity along the entire loop.

Solidworks

Solidworks is a solid modeling computer-aided design and computer-aided engineering computer program marketed by Dassault Systèmes

For this excercise, I draw two circles, one inside the other one, and then I extruded the inner plane. Pretty simple

But you can also use the different planes and make an extrusion using extruded revolved base tool

Then you will have a perfect donnut

Fusion 360

Fusion 360 it's a CAD, CAM, and CAE tool of its kind that connects your entire product development process in a single cloud-based platform that works on PC, Mac, and mobile devices.

Fusion 360 has a very user friendliness
