13. Applications and implications

What will it do?

It will improve the habitability of an enclosed space.

It will react to sound with movement and it will react to temperatue with color.

Who’s done what beforehand?

Philipe beesley. Hylozoic ground

UEM. Club de Fabricación Digital

Pablo Gil. Living pavillion.

What will you design?

The lightest but functional fake plant that will behave with its environment. My aim would be to design it as autonomous as posible incorporating batteries that will recharge by themselve. A plant that could recognize day and night time incorporating LDR, light dependant resistors.

What materials and components will be used? and where will they come from?

PETG O,5 mm. It won’t be recycled material but it will be easily recicled since it is already the material used in food industry. Copper. A material that is easily found in construction

How much will they cost?

What parts and systems will be made?

What processes will be used?

The Vynilcutter will be used as much as posible to produce the pieces needed.

What questions need to be answered?

How will it be evaluated?

It should be evaluated by

2D & 3D design.

Additive and substractive fabrication processes.

Electronics design and production.

Microcontroller interfacing and programming.

System integration and packaging.
