Exercise 01. Principles and Practices, presentations, introductions

Assignement: Plan and sketch a potential final project.

Plan

For planning a final projet, I'll try to use the G.O.S.T Model, defining my goals, objectives, strategies, and tactics, which is a new model to me.

Goals

  1. Long-term goals
  2. Medium-term goals
  3. Short-term goals

Among my above goals, I will plan here below a short-term one: "Hold a final object at the end of the six-month Fab Academy 2018 program" called:

Generative FabLab Collective Knitting: a piece of work
.

Objectives

  1. Reach the following learning outcomes:
  2. Have a personal finished product in hand, at the end of the course, which has been built partly with digital fabrication tools teached in their use during the Fab Academy 2018 program.

Strategy

  1. Envision the weekly assigments as new components of my final project;
  2. Listen and observe the live sessions and groups' meetings with a generative attitude;
  3. Plan my activities every week;
  4. Work with discipline every day;
  5. Ask for help when necessary.

Tactics

  1. Envision, prototype and document my ideas through many hours of hands-on experience with digital fabrication tools;
  2. Evidence/proof/things I need to show about what I've learnt each week (what I did and how I did it).
  3. Take care of my health and stress with well-balanced diet, sleep, and regular Qi Gong practice.

Sketch

My potential final project could be a blanket, sized 50 x 50 cm, with connected flowers in different materials and functions.

I got some first inspirations from:

Thank you all for inspiring me.
