Molding and casting

The assignment for this week is design a 3D mold, machine it, and cast parts from it. My idea was to make a keychain with my company logo's with a hole to put a RFID chip. This chip allows you to open all the doors of our residence, because it has control system acces. I've drawn the logo with Rhino following the explanations of our teachers.


Finally I've exported my logo as .stl format to used in the Modela. In the miller machine I've loaded my image .stl and I've started with the larger drill to proceed with the removal of the material.

Later I've used another bit thinner to define the details of my piece. It took about 40 minutes to finish the second round.
I have not had time to apply the silicone and make a piece with it. I hope I can finish the process in the coming days.
