Alex Reyes
Mechatronics Engineering student passionate about design, electronics, and building meaningful technology.
Who I Am
I am a Mechatronics Engineering student at Ibero Puebla and part of FabLab Puebla, Mexico. I believe technology should make life easier, not more complicated. I am especially drawn to design and electronics because they allow me to transform ideas into tangible solutions.
What inspired me to study engineering was the idea that automation can reduce repetitive work and create smarter systems. I enjoy designing devices that are not only functional but meaningful.
Why I Build
My final project, Ancora, reflects something very personal to me. It was born from my concern for people close to me who experience anxiety attacks. I have seen how vulnerable someone can feel in those moments, and I want to use engineering as a tool to provide support and reassurance.
I believe mental health deserves more attention, and technology can play a role in that change. In the future, I see myself working on innovative projects, ideally in startups where new ideas can quickly become real solutions.
Beyond Engineering
Outside of engineering, I enjoy hiking, going to the gym, reading, watching movies, spending time with friends. Being active and spending time outdoors helps me stay balanced and creative.
