About me

Yu Hongfeng (John Yu) 于洪烽

Competition coach, STEM Center — ISA International Education Group 爱莎教育集团科创中心 · 竞赛教练

I have worked in maker education since 2014, focusing on curriculum design, project-based learning, and competition coaching for K-12 students. I believe every learner has a unique innovation path, and I use hands-on making to help students turn curiosity into practical, high-impact outcomes.

I am also a student in Fab Academy 2026 at Chaihuo Makerspace in Shenzhen, China. This site documents my weekly coursework and my capstone project, Forest Fairy (森之精灵).

Mentoring outcomes

In recent years, my students have achieved continuous breakthroughs. In 2025, teams I coached won Guangdong and national first prizes at ICC and later received a gold award in international exchange. Other projects earned ICC provincial awards and a gold prize at the 13th Macau International Innovation and Invention Expo. Earlier projects also received recognition in national and regional events, including Blue Bridge Cup and Shenzhen youth innovation competitions.
